V Tone

V Tone is a non-surgical treatment for urinary incontinence.

What is Incontinence?

Incontinence, or inadvertent loss of urine, is an enormous problem affecting millions of women.  Many women are frustrated with traditional solutions – pads, Kegel exercises, surgery, etc.  The fear of embarrassing urine leakage keeps women from traveling, dating, or being out in public.  The need to wear a pad or diaper always can be humiliating and degrading.  It is difficult to feel confident in any situation when you are worried about wetting your pants.

Incontinence can be related to many factors including childbirth, aging, lack of exercise, and menopause.  All of these contribute to a weak pelvic floor and inability to control urination.  Strengthening the pelvic floor musculature will help support all the pelvic structures including the bladder and urethra.  The result is much better control over urination and reduced urgency and frequency.

V Tone is an FDA cleared technology designed to provide intravaginal direct muscle stimulation of the pelvic floor and neuromuscular re-education.  This provides the ability to rehabilitate weak pelvic floor muscles for the treatment of stress, urge, or mixed incontinence in women.  The rehabilitation comes through electrical muscle stimulation (EMS).  EMS delivers safe, low-frequency electrical pulses which induce involuntary muscle contractions.

V Tone is a non-invasive, comfortable, in-office series of treatments that restore self confidence and quality of life without surgery or prolonged down time.

Improvement in Sexual Function

Because the muscle bundle being strengthened by V Tone is the same group of muscles involved in orgasm and vaginal tightness, sexual function is enhanced, and orgasms are stronger after a series of V Tone treatments.

Additionally, you will have a relief of the sensation of pelvic pressure or heaviness as well as a reduction in fecal incontinence.

What to Expect From a V Tone Treatment

V Tone involves a single use, two-sided tip that inserts quickly and comfortably into the vaginal canal to strengthen weak pelvic floor muscles and improve urinary incontinence symptoms.  We insert the device which then pulsates and gently heats inside the vaginal canal.  V Tone treatment is painless and quick.  Patients report feeling tighter intra-vaginal muscles, stronger pelvic floor, and no leakage following the course of treatment.  “It does your Kegel exercises for you,” one patient described!

Treatment Recommendations

For best results, V Tone treatment should be done once a week for six weeks. Each session takes only 15 minutes, and there is no downtime.  Patients should shave the entire vaginal area 24 hours prior to treatment.  NO waxing.  Sexual intercourse is not recommended for 2-3 days after V Tone treatment.  Avoid hot tubs for 5-6 days after treatment.
